Chincoteague – Ponies, Beaches and Family Fun

Mother Nature made horses, and Mother Nature did ponies. But Mother Nature has made a substantial hard, smart and beautiful breed of horses, whose small size means that they are commonly called ponies, and turned loose to wander the beaches and deserts of Assateague Island, Virginia.

But today is the famous Chincoteague ponies, the Virginia coast, directly west of the island of Assateague. Ponies are a major reason to Chincoteague and Assateague Islands are a magnet for families on holiday in the Eastern Shore.
